General Disclaimer & Report Use

Every ALS report pertains solely to the sample as received and to the method described. Extrapolation to a batch, lot, or larger population is the recipient’s responsibility unless ALS was expressly engaged for statistically representative sampling on-site.

Reports are addressed to the client identified on the report. Third parties may rely on the report only where the client has passed the report to them in full, unaltered, and where the third party has read this document. ALS owes no duty of care to a third party who has relied on an excerpted, altered, or summarised report.

• Reports may be reproduced in full, unaltered, with the report number and issue date visible.
• Excerpts (e.g. tables, single results, chromatograms) require ALS’s prior written consent.
• ALS’s name and marks may not be used in advertising or endorsement without written consent.
• Where a report is referred to in a regulatory dossier, the accompanying method description in the dossier must be technically accurate.

ALS reports are analytical evidence, not regulatory determinations. Decisions on registration, release, recall, or import remain the responsibility of the client and the competent authority. ALS does not accept liability for regulatory outcomes based on a report unless we were expressly engaged to provide a written regulatory-opinion deliverable.

Reported results are subject to measurement uncertainty as stated on the report. Comparisons to a specification apply the ‘simple acceptance’ rule (guardbanding not applied) unless the client instructs otherwise on the submission form. See QMS-018 for the full measurement-uncertainty policy.

Where a report references a client-supplied reference standard, method, or specification, ALS relies on the client’s representation as to its provenance and identity. ALS is not responsible for consequential errors arising from inaccurate client-supplied inputs.
